Work In Progress Inspection For Oil Engine Spares And Parts

Leading Oil Engine Manufacturer in India:
A client is a leading oil engine manufacturer in India committed to deliver the highly reliable engine with stringent quality control in-place.
Critical Assembly Defects:
Despite of performing rigorous inspection on their assembly line, they encounter undetected assembly defects surfacing one or twice in one quarter. Though infrequent but these defects are critical and often discover during final final-stage testing. To fix those defects requires complete engine disassembly, leading to significant rework, wasted efforts, and production delay.
Real-Time AI Vision Inspection:
We were commissioned to design and implement a real-time vision inspection system that works in parallel with manual engine assembly. The system used industrial cameras, AI-Powered AI models and workflow-based defect detection modules to inspect components and subassemblies as they are being assembled. This ensures immediate feedback for early detection of defects.
Key features:
1. Non-Intrusive Integration – Designed to operate seamlessly on the live production line without slowing down the assembly
2. Real-time detection – Captures and evaluates visuals instantly, that reduce the risk of delayed defects detection
3. Work-in progress inspection – Focuses on in-process validation for early detection of the defects, that improved quality at source
4. Human + Machine collaboration – Augments manual check with AI-Driven modules, reducing human fatigue and oversight
Benefits:
1. Early stages defect detection
2. Significant reduction in rework efforts, prevented recalls and improved production continuity
3. Improved operator confidence and process reliability
